Grubhub vs DoorDash: Availability in Cities

You are aware of two of the best food delivery services, Grubhub and DoorDash. However, this battle might end early if one of these food delivery services does not service your area.

Grubhub is a behemoth in the food delivery market serving over 2,200 cities in North America and London.

Grubhub vs DoorDash: Restaurants

If a food delivery service doesn’t partner with your favorite local restaurant, it doesn’t do you much good.

When comparing these two food delivery services, we took into account the restaurant availability.

Overall, most all your favorite local restaurants should be available with both services. Even though Grubhub is in more cities, it is still a tough call. We’ll call this one a draw.

Winner for Restaurant Choices: Tie

Grubhub vs DoorDash: Fees

It always leads back to the money. Who wants to overpay for food delivery? Probably not you.

To find out which company has the best deals and rates we have to dig in a bit deeper.

Grubhub Delivery Fees: Expect to pay a delivery fee of less than $7 when using Grubhub.

DoorDash Delivery Fees: Fees tend to be higher from $5-$8 but there are different promotions ongoing periodically like free delivery or free menu items. One thing that DoorDash offers is DashPass ($9.99/mo) that has free delivery on orders exceeding $15.

Winner for Fees:

Grubhub vs DoorDash: Usability

After using both apps and websites to deliver food multiple times, it’s hard to tell a difference. The order process for both DoorDash and Grubhub is simple, easy, and straight-forward.

Grubhub vs DoorDash: Customer Service

If you don’t think you will need to know about customer service for either Grubhub or DoorDash, think again.

Things can go wrong very easily.

Sometimes the restaurant will forget an order item or an item can be undercooked — you get the idea.

While this can be very frustrating to deal with, having a system in place to get refunded in very important.

When dealing with these two apps, both customer service teams for Grubhub and DoorDash are very helpful.

Grubhub Customer Service

If you are dealing with an error in your order for Grubhub, you can deal with issues all within the app.

However, if you are wanted to get in touch with Grubhub customer service you can find common answers in their FAQs or contact them via phone at 1 (877) 585-1085 or email on its contact page.

Many people have voices concerns with Grubhub’s customer service team, which is not as good as expected by some customers.

DoorDash Customer Service

When you are dealing with an error in your order for DoorDash, they make refunds painless and simple. You simply use the app to select what’s wrong with your order and you offer you DoorDash credit to compensate you. Having gone through this process, it was pretty satisfactory (I do wish I received my order of loaded fries though).

If you do need more assistance, then you can use the DoorDash FAQs or contact them via phone at 1 (650) 681-9470 or email ([email protected]).

Winner for Customer Service:

The Winner?

Having used DoorDash and Grubhub for several weeks I can honestly say you can’t go wrong using either service.

Want to get paid to play games on your phone?

  1. Mistplay (Android) - If you have an android device, you can download this app and start getting cash rewards for playing new games.
  2. Solitaire Cube (iOS) - Earning money by playing games on your phone sounds like a dream. But this app really pays you for playing solitaire with cash rewards.
  3. Lucktastic (Android) - This free app offers the same daily scratch-off cards that you find at your local convenience store — but here you can play for free and win real money.

These two food delivery services are the titans of its industry.

However, one app has been my go-to when I’m ordering those delicious sliders from Cheesecake Factory.

It’s been helpful for my customer service issues, simple to use, and not as pricey with its fees due to discounts and coupons. While Grubhub is more widely available — I’ll continue to use DoorDash. Plus, if you wanted to use it too you can get 50% off your next meal by clicking here.
